Way to go to all of those buyers who bought this week!  I’ve always thought this time of year is the time to buy if you can find what you want (that tends to be the problem – a lack of inventory).  And this year has some added reasons to buy, unbelievable interest rates, Mortgage Protection Program offered to first time home buyers by the California Association of Realtors (if you don’t know about this and you’re a first time home buyer, you should fire your agent), and then the $8,000 tax credit from the federal government. 

Okay, back to the numbers… our current inventory in San Carlos is 41 homes.  At our current rate, we would go through all of the inventory in just over 10 weeks.  That is less than half of what it was a week ago, when it stood at 22.5 weeks.  I think those who get their homes on the market in the early part of 2010, are going to see them sell quickly.
